Three brothers who helped to plug a gap in the RnB and Urban music scene in the North West are celebrating 21 years in the business.
Andrew, Eddie, and Pete Odudu from Blackburn, set up ,上海品茶QQRaffey,Brownsuga in,上海品茶微信Daryl, 1998, as a student-orientated promotions company, selling out some of the biggest venues across the region.
Before long they were hosting regular nights at Preston’s Tokyo Jo’s, and in 2000 held an event at Utopia in Blackburn with renowned RnB DJ, Tim Westwood.
The brothers also hosted nights at Temple in Bolton, club Alter Ego in Burnley with Radio 1’s Charlie Sloth in 2013, and operated a string of Hotshots Bars between 2011 and 2016 in Darwen, Bolton, and Burnley.
To mark 21 years in the business, they’re hosting a special reunion party at Preston’s Tokyo Jo’s (now known as Evoque) on Saturday October 5.
Eddie Odudu, 44, said: “We’re excited about coming back after all these years to one of our favourite clubs and favourite cities.
“There is nothing better than putting on events for real music lovers and seeing the place totally full and people dressed up to enjoy themselves.
“Always good to do Preston and seeing people from all over the North West coming together and having a good time.”
The former Our Lady and St John’s college students, who now own Latch bar in Chorley, have worked with some of the biggest names in the business, including Missy Elliot, 112, Soul II Soul, Trevor Nelson, EZ, Davido, Aswad, Ms Dynamite, So Solid Crew, and Alexander O’Neil.
And their 21st anniversary party promises to be an event like no other.
